Julie Koebel
Nancy
Julie Koebel (They/Them) has recently graduated from the BFA in Acting at the University of Alberta. They come from the traditional unceded territories of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Matsqui and Seyome First Nations where they received a Diploma in Theatre for the Stage at Douglas College. Julie is now thrilled to live and work in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton). Julie is inspired by nature, their community and taking joy in the small things. Selected theatre credits include: The Laramie Project, [BLANK], Orlando (Studio Theatre), Titanic: The Musical and A Little Night Music (Nuova Vocal Arts), A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cold, Hard, Panic! A Night of Clown, Cloud 9 (University of Alberta), The Ash Girl, Love/Sick (Douglas College), How to Survive the Apocalypse Without Really Trying, Once Upon a Fairytale (Capricorn Theatre Productions).

Marina Mikhaylichenko
Debbie/Gwendolyn
Marina Mikhaylichenko (she/her) is an Edmonton based artist from Turkmenistan, she is going into her fourth year of the BFA in Musical Theatre Performance program at MacEwan. Recent performance credits include Mary in Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 and Heather Chandler in Heathers (MacEwan University). Previous Fringe credits include Scamway! (Cathexis Theatre at the 2023 Fringe)

Mera Martens
Fiorella, Fair Goods Manager, Citizen
Mera Martens is excited to perform again in Scamway!, her fourth Fringe show and third show with Cathexis, and would like to thank the amazing cast and crew for making this show come to the stage! They are an Edmonton-based artist originally from Grande Prairie, Alberta. Their previous productions include the first production of Scamway! with Cathexis Theatre, Regression with Cathexis Theatre, Monique The Unique Unicorn with Scrap Magic Theatre and Working: A Musical with Citadel Young Companies. When she’s not busy portraying evil businesswomen, you can usually find them reading, playing video games, playing tabletop RPGs, researching real life cults, and/or trying to pet stray cats!

Casey Powlik
Patsy, Wren, Police Officer, Citizen
Casey Powlik couldn’t be more excited to be making her Fringe debut! An Edmonton-based actor, Casey works across live theatre, musical theatre, and film, bringing energy and heart to every performance. Recently, she’s been diving into the world of writing and directing, expanding her creative voice both on and off the stage. Casey is endlessly grateful to her family and friends for their constant support and encouragement. She hopes you enjoy the show as much as she does!

Pauline Miki
Evangeline/Jane
Pauline Miki (she/her/siya) — actor, storyteller, and professional chaos curator. Known for turning caffeine into characters and awkward moments into art. Scamway 2025 is not ready for me, but here I am.

Emily Smith
Susan/Olive
Emily is a queer nonbinary actor, playwright and clown based in Edmonton. Their recent original projects were Crow Summer Cabaret (Skirts a Fire), Puberty Cabaret (Azimuth) and Scamp and Shorty's Male Beauty Pageant (Skirts a Fire). They have also been seen on MacEwan's stages as Toby Belch in Twelfth Night, Enid Hoop in Legally Blonde and Rose in London Road. They are so excited to be working with Cathexis to revive their role in Scamway. Enjoy the show!

Chloe Brinco
Lisa, Kestrel, Fairy Gospel Mother
Chloe Brinco (she/her) is an emerging theatre artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. She is a 2024 graduate of Victoria School of the Arts. Chloe has also been performing in Fringe shows since the age of 11. This Fall, she will enter her first year in the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre Performance Program at MacEwan University. With a passion for music, she has trained vocally for six years and recently completed her RCM Level 10 exam in Classical Voice. Chloe also plays guitar and performs at local farmers' markets. Select performance credits include Paulette Bonafonte in Legally Blonde, Sandy Cheeks in The Spongebob Musical (Victoria School of the Arts), Lou-Anne/Sockapella in Practically Perfect Pitch (Top Bunk Theatre Co.), Gillian in The Princess and the Pea, Aunt Spiker in James and the Giant Peach Jr. (Underdog Theatre Co.) Erin Hutchison
Playwright/Lyricist, Director, Sound Designer
Erin is an Edmonton-based Director, Playwright, Actor, Clown and the Artistic Director of Cathexis Theatre. Erin is a graduate of MacEwan's Music Theatre Performance program and has written and directed six musicals under her theatre company. She is so thankful for everyone who has offered a helping hand throughout her theatrical ventures and is honoured to work on this wacky show with these incredible people. She is so honoured that you could make it and hopes you enjoy black comedy as much as she does!

Michelle Glen
Co-Musical Director Composer/Pianist
Michelle is an Edmonton based composer, songwriter and sound designer. Originally from Grimshaw, Alberta, she received her Bachelor of Music at the University of Alberta in 2019. Michelle is passionate about narrative musical works and enjoys exploring the crossover of storytelling and music through theatre, film and video games. She has composed works for chamber ensembles, choral ensembles, opera, solo instruments and electronics. Michelle is passionate about bringing important topics to light through collaborative works and hopes to inspire audiences in thought provoking ways. She is thrilled to have been involved in the creative process for Wild Moo’s Chase as well as Scamway and is excited to return to the Fringe Festival this summer.

Andrew Despres
Co- Producer
This is Andrew's third foray into producing and he is so excited to be doing it with Cathexis Theatre! Andrew is a Theatre Arts MacEwan graduate from all the way back in 2007. This is the 6th show with Cathexis Theatre he has been involved with going back to 2014. Previous shows include Murder Mime the Musical (2014 and 2017), The Big Bright (2019) and Wild Moo's Chase (2022).
Andrew is a full time IT Professional in his regular day to day life and the Owner of Techead Solutions, a local IT Consulting company.

Erin Vandermolen-Pater
Musical Director
Erin V-P is a singer, actor, aerialist, music teacher, and mom (to one human- and three fur-babies). She attended high school here in Edmonton (Victoria School of the Arts), and college in Victoria, BC (Canadian College of Performing Arts). Musical theatre has been her passion since elementary school, and is something she loves to share as a performer, music director, and teacher. She has music directed three past productions with Cathexis Theatre: The Big Bright, Scamway, and Regression. For the past couple of years, she has been combining her love for singing with her pursuit of aerial trapeze and hoop, and is working towards creating more work as a singing aerialist. Catch her concert “Erin V-P Sings the Kate Bush Songbook” in September at The Aviary!

Deo Kornel
Stage Manager Technician
Deo is a second year theatre production student at MacEwan University. His previous productions include: The Prom (MacEwan), Heathers (MacEwan), Twelfth Night (MacEwan), and M*A*S*H (ESBCHS). This is his first fringe show and he is super excited to be stage managing Scamway!

Jennifer Bilyk
Choreographer
Jennifer started dancing at a young age at L.A Dance Academy in Leduc, and continued her dance journey at Dance FX in Wetaskiwin, where she immediately fell in love with the art form and performing. Her love of performance led her to musical theatre, a passion that she took from the age of 6 through to university. Jennifer graduated from Macewan’s Theatre Arts program in 2013 alongside Erin. Since then, Jennifer has gratefully choreographed for Cathexis consistently, including Grave Digger, Murder Mime The Musical, The Big Bright, Wild Moos Chase, SCAMWAY!, and Regression. Jennifer is excited and thankful to be part of the SCAMWAY! team once again.

Caitlan Argueta
Costume, Props and Set Designer
Caitlan Argueta is an Edmonton-based designer and technician. They are a graduate of MacEwan University's Bachelor of Fine arts in Theatre Production. Previous shows they have worked on include, Regression (Cathexis Theatre, 2024), El Funeral (Diáspora Diaries, 2023), Spring Awakening (MacEwan University 2023)

Payal Jotania
Lighting Designer
Payal Jotania is an Architect and set, costume and lighting designer from India. She is currently working on a thesis towards her MFA in Theater Design at University of Alberta. She is experienced as art director,and production designer and has designed
for commercial and feature films, television and TV commercials in the Indian film industry. She has received her undergraduate degree in Architecture from University
of Mumbai, India. She is an emerging designer exploring the possibilities of
amalgamation of different aspects of theater and films. Her credits include The Devils (Set and Props Designer), Indecent (Costume Designer), Girl in the Goldfish Bowl (Lighting Designer), Rough Magic (Lighting Designer), The Circle at University
of Alberta (Head Scenic Paint), Everybody (Lighting Assistant).
